In the News: Republican incumbent Charles Schwertner to face Democrat Meg Walsh in November

Walsh faced Brian Cronin and Glenn "Grumpy" Williams in the Democratic primary. In Brazos County, she received 3,153 votes compared to the 851 received by Cronin and 745 for Williams. District-wide, with 180 of 207 precinct reporting, Walsh had 18,517 votes, with Cronin receiving 4,594 and Williams receiving 3,139.
In addition to acknowledging her opponents in the primary, Walsh said she is greatly appreciative of the support she received and looks forward to reaching more voters with her message over the coming months.
